Lindsay books - sasquatch - 10-26-2012

Lindsay books is closing up. Lindsay is retiring and closing up shop after 30 some years of reprinting old mechanical shop books.
Just got my new catalog from them, and across the front is printed "LAST CATALOG".

So if you want a new catalog he is still sending them out, (you can order one over his site on the net.,) BUT he states AFTER Feb 13th things will be shut down.

That's too bad. He has a lot of good old books that will be lost forever.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have many of his catalogs and bought a few books off him, The guy has a GREAT sense of humor!!
I always thought it would be a great place to visit.

Figured out the total cost once years back if one orderd one of every book in his catalog at that time, it would make a nice reference library,, i can't remember what the total was, but could have got a deal on the books from him i bet.
Sad situation to see this close.

I've been an off/on customer for quite a few years. I got the LAST CATALOG. Get one, pretty cool little magazine. I have taken on a challenge: I'm going through the catalog and seeing what I can find online. Many of the books he sells are reprints of ancient stuff and are actually available online for free, legally. Unfortunately, many of his books and pamphlets are NOT public domain and will be lost I'm afraid. Sad... I was hoping he would donate a bunch of them to be scanned, but it appears he won't be doing that.
