You have a big hole where the seal goes, exposing the marbles.

I finally had to change belt speeds on my mill/drill and found that some darn mice built a nest and peed all over the bearing. Apparently it's SEALED. Smile

I just wanted to get a picture of the inside of the drive housing before I started cleaning it out. All of the black crud in there is finely shredded v-belt material. Had the mill for several years now and I can't believe those bearings haven't crashed and burned. Not a drop of oil or grease to be found in them. They have been running dry the entire time. Yikes

I hadn't pulled the shaft out yet when I took the pic though.

I did get the correct bearings (sort of). I ordered Timken bearings. I got boxes that say Timken on them. The bearings inside are marked Fafnir. (Japan) Bash Bash

But they are the correct size, with double seals, so that is what I'm using.

Either are very high quality bearings.

Avoid certain offshore makes though.
