One major issue I have with all the makers is....why 8"?

The increments are 6", 8" and 12". Or, 150mm, 200mm & 300mm. I have a very rare NINE inch Starrett digital electronic one, and it's the only electronic Starrett tool that I love. I can't tell you how many times that extra inch has been needed. Why could they all do that, and why did Starrett discontinue it?

Have you used an 8" caliper Ken? It's actually an ideal size and is all I use at home and at work. The price difference isn't that great over a six inch and you get an extra 30% capacity. I also have a 12" (dial), but they are much to unwieldy for every day use.

Trick question - there is no summer in MN

RE: Latest UPS Delivery - PixMan - 05-26-2015

Tom,

Of course I've used 8" calipers at work many times, they're fine. Having that 1 more inch has been GREAT though.

Have YOU ever used a 9" caliper? Big Grin

No, that's Steve's and Greg's territory.

Actually the mosquitos and black flies chase the polar bears north for the summer.
