Machinist Calc Pro - TOM REED - 08-30-2012 Here we go again too much time at home, I have been thinking about if I am smart enough to use one of these or not and had been contemplating buying one for a few months, found today fairly reasonable on E-BAY so next week when it arrives I will again get a thorough chewing out. tom http://www.ebay.ca/itm/200762876109?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 RE: MACHINIST CALC PRO - PixMan - 08-31-2012 I tried using one before. They're unusual and require getting accustomed to the key layout. It's worth doing though because there's so much good data at hand, available without firing-up the computer RE: MACHINIST CALC PRO - TOM REED - 09-05-2012 Ordered last thurs delivered today 6 days later. It is a nice piece and does functions that I have never even heard of plus many I am familiar with but probably never learn how to use it to it's full potential. It is definitely not one of the needed items for a beginner and most likely not even myself. Oh well I have it now. tom RE: MACHINIST CALC PRO - EdK - 09-06-2012 Tom, It's another tool so you must need it. Better to have a tool and not need it than to have the need and no tool, or something like that. Ed RE: MACHINIST CALC PRO - Highpower - 09-06-2012 Close enough. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. I bought the cheap version without all the extras, on sale for about $15 IIRC. I don't know how to use the "extras" anyway. If I did, I shouldn't need them in the first place, right? RE: MACHINIST CALC PRO - TOM REED - 09-06-2012 Mine works, I just don't know if I am smart enough to get it to work for me. tom |
