Is there no "how not to" heading? - stevec - 02-22-2012

As part of an answer to a members query and a try to upload a pic here goes the following.[attachment=77]
This is the 16 x60 Lux Matter getting loaded for my move from Ontario to here in Nova Scotia.
Lots more of this story if anyones interested.

Steve,

Go ahead with the story. I think most of us would be interested in hearing it since most of us have or will move our machines at some point.

Here's the sequel to the first pic of the 16x60 lathe inside the 53 footer
[attachment=82]

Here's the Tree 2UVR, these pics don't show the blocking and steel bar bolted to the lathe and the mill to steady them
[attachment=83]

Mill Driill, chop saw, drill press end mill grinder and steel bench.
[attachment=84]

More stuff incl. 12x36 lathe, 2nd drill press, boxes and the Shaper should be in there by now too as well as my self made 9x19 bandsaw
[attachment=86]

More stuff still, 3pt log splitter, couple of compressors
[attachment=85]

I'm getting a bit mixed up so I'll do another post later

Steve,
Is the forklift yours too?

Wow!

RE: Is there no "how not to" heading? - stevec - 02-23-2012

Okay, I found the shaper in pic #3.
The reason pic #2 doesn't show the blocking and steel bar bolted to the lathe and the mill to steady them is because it isn't there yet.
:s
Here's a pic of the snowblower. Unfortunately the photo documentation is a bit sporadic. I was very busy!
[attachment=87]

Here's the ramp set-up for loading my Allis Chalmers tractors, thanks to my bud's flatbed trailer and some ingenuity on his part.
[attachment=89]

Here's the first tractor going in. It's a project I've been doing for years now. It's configured in the "Model IB" or Industrial B model.
[attachment=88]
Here goes the 2nd tractor, an AC Model CA
[attachment=90]

Finally the third, an AC model B with loader (and forks) of my design and manufacture. On the 3pt.
[attachment=91]

I'll take another break,

Steve,

You certainly had the right tools for the job. Thanks for posting the pictures. Cool

Nice! Thanks for posting. YOur lathe looks remarkably like a Nardini, right down to the paint color. What's the country of origin for that, and have you been able to find a distributor for the machines and/or parts? Also, seems like a somewhat small spindle through hole for a 16x60 lathe. How big is that, and do you have a collet chuck for it?

The Tree machine also looks interesting. The motor on the side (for rapid traverse and feeds of the table?) appears to be bigger than the spindle motor. Tell us about that machine, please. What spindle adaptation and HP?

Thanks for your interest guys, I'll get back to you soon with more info. We haven't even gotten to the "how not to" part.
Bedtime
