cutting gears - dallen - 07-01-2012 I am wanting to cut some gears, now this subject is just full of math which I lack a bunch of. What I am hoping is that someone has or knows a formlua that I can use to calculate the outside diameter of gear blanks. the reason for this madness is that I am missing some of the change gears for my lathe an I figure that I may as well learn how to cut them so that I can make what I need, but for the life of me can't seem to figure out how to calculate the blank size. thanks in advance David RE: cutting gears - TOM REED - 07-01-2012 check my recent pos for valuable information site thru that site you will be able to find the information you desire mathematical tables etc tom http://www.metalworkingfun.com/showthread.php?tid=543 RE: cutting gears - Mayhem - 07-01-2012 I don't have the experience to help but will be watching with interest.
