Starrett 221 - JScott - 08-26-2024 Here's a nifty micrometer my good friend Sherman gifted me. It's a Starrett 221 with dual thimbles. The thimble closer to the anvils reads in thousandths of an inch. The engravings are black. The second thimble is engraved with red lettering and it reads directly in ten-thousandths of an inch. It is very smooth and easy to use. I really like the carbide faces on the anvil and stem although I'll never be able to wear out the regular hardened faces. Just wanted to post this because I thought the direct reading feature was neat. [attachment=18738] |
