Brass Corpus Project - Patrick-C - 12-24-2020 I cast a brass corpus in my new foundry sand. This is only the first step. Patrick RE: Brass Corpus Project - Dr Stan - 12-25-2020 Nice job but I'm curious. Why brass and not bronze? Bronze is usually, but not always, easier to work with. RE: Brass Corpus Project - Patrick-C - 12-26-2020 Thank you, the reason I did not use bronze is because I only have two primary metals that I work with. Those are aluminum and brass. I have done a little bit of cast iron, but that is it. I am planning to do bronze, iron, stainless steel, and other metals in the near future. But in the mean time I am working with what I know. And if what you say about bronze being easier than that is a light in the horizon! Patrick RE: Brass Corpus Project - Dr Stan - 12-28-2020 Bronze has a lower melting point than brass. That's what I meant about it being easier to work with. RE: Brass Corpus Project - Patrick-C - 01-13-2021 Another video on the brass corpus project. Just the boring molding process, but it can be interesting! Patrick RE: Brass Corpus Project - Patrick-C - 01-24-2021 Finally finished the brass corpus project, and it turned out way better than I thought it would! Patrick |
