Open end wrench as a caliper. - aametalmaster - 05-06-2012

I have a bunch of 5/8" wide rings to face off and didn't want to read my vernier calipers or even a mic so i grabbed an open ended 5/8" wrench to use as a guage. I know everyone already knew that they could be used as such but there is always one guy who didn't :). Enjoy...Bob

Bob,

That certainly is a whole lot quicker than the usual measuring tools we tend to use in the shop. Smile

Yes i guess it could be a go/no go gauge. If it still won't fit take off some more :)...Bob

I just had to go to the shop and measure some 5/8" open end wrenches. Most of them fit well on the end knuckle of the pinky of my left hand (less arthritis than the right). Sounds like the degree of precision I shoot for.
