Blackening Stressproof steel - Sunset Machine - 04-30-2012
I made some bolts from 1144 Stressproof and will be taking a torch to them for blackening. Not that it matters much for this project but I was curious - will it affect the strength?

As long as you stay below the critical temperature of any material, no significant change to its properties will occur.
