Hope that helps. RE: plasma tip - arvidj - 12-29-2016 Here is at least one explanation of what is going on inside the torch ... http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us/equipment/plasma-cutters/process-and-theory/Pages/how-a-plasma-cutter-works.aspx ... You can probably make them but I think the materials and dimensions may be somewhat critical to making it all work. Good luck. RE: plasma tip - Hawkeye - 12-29-2016 I ordered a set of consumables for my CT-416 from China. The other day, I was checking the air flow and I noticed that the air was coming out at a sharp angle. Some of the tips had some burr around the centre hole. I can probably clean that up, but it's worth looking at every piece before using. RE: plasma tip - arvidj - 12-30-2016 Lots of "ifs" in the following statements. You'll need to validate which ones fit your needs. If the original goal was to get the plasma cutter up and running then purchasing the consumables would seem to be the quickest way to do that. If it was to get it up and running without spending any money they the rest of this post is useless. A Google for " lotos32amp" suggests it might be this plasma cutter ... https://www.amazon.com/LT3200-32-Amp-Non-Pilot-Plasma-220Volt/dp/B00XQHXQSW ... Yes, that is a link to Amazon in America but we're just trying to establish the actual plasma cutter, not actually buy something. If that is not the plasma cutter you have then skip the rest of this post. But it if is the plasma cutter you have then we can continue further down the page to "Frequently Bought Together" where we find a link to the recommended consumables ... https://www.amazon.com/Lotos-LCON20-20-pieces-Consumables-Electrode/dp/B00NUCH9D6/ref=pd_bxgy_328_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00NUCH9D6&pd_rd_r=F1N3YM8YSGCW8Z7PCFZ2&pd_rd_w=cy10g&pd_rd_wg=5GgYg&psc=1&refRID=F1N3YM8YSGCW8Z7PCFZ2 ... It should be noted that in the reviews there is at least one mention of "bad fit" so you will want to follow Hawkeye's suggestion and check fit and finish before you install them in the torch. So now we seem to at least have a part number ... LCON20, but again it is only correct if it actually matches your plasma cutter. Googling for "LCON20 Australia" gets a few hits that look promising ... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LCON20-20pcs-Nozzle-Electrode-Cup-and-Ring-Set-for-LOTOS-50Amp-Plasma-Cutter-/262747786997 ... and ... http://www.uwelding.com.au/lcon20-20-piece-set-of-nozzle-electrode-cup-and-ring-for-lt5000-ct520-cut32i/ ... In fact that last link is to a place called "LOTOS TECHNOLOGY Australia" which sounds like the people who would know about such things. Note that none of these links are to anything that is guaranteed to work with your plasma cutter. You'll need to validate that for yourself. Anyway, hope that helps, Arvid |
