Anyone Ever Dealt With Tormach - the penguin - 09-10-2016 Has any one ever dealt with Tormach, they have 2 lathe tools I would like to get, their price seems realistic, but I never had any dealing with them or actual seen any of their products. I'm looking for # 35655 - SCBCR 12-4B #SCKCR - SCKCR 12-4B both of them use the 75 degree cutting on the CCMT-32-5x inserts, that I have, at this point an almost endless supply, where the 105 degree cutting edge is dulled. Maybe this is a waste of time, but I'd at least like to get one tool and try. I'm looking for Thanks for posting this Jack. I've been looking forever for that type of tooling to make use of the unused edge on CCMT-32-5x inserts. I've got one for the smaller inserts but not this one. I think I'm going to go ahead and order the 35647 - RH Turning Tool: SCBCR 08-2A. SCBCR-08-2A Ed EDIT: I ended up getting it from LittleMachineShop.com instead. Tormach wanted me to create an account in order to go through the checkout process and their shipping was way more. LittleMachineShop RE: Anyone Ever Dealt With Tormach - the penguin - 09-10-2016 Thank you Ed, LMS had both tools (I did have to settle for 1/2" shanks), I was looking for, the cost from LMS with shipping was lower than Tormach's cost for just the bare tools. The surprising thing is LMS list them as Tormach made, so the same tool for a lower cost, DAMN!! I like that. RE: Anyone Ever Dealt With Tormach - Vinny - 09-10-2016 and LMS has excellent customer service. Ed RE: Anyone Ever Dealt With Tormach - the penguin - 09-14-2016 My order from LMS, for the 2 lathe tools, that use the normally unused sides of a CCMT carbide insert arrived today. I got a #5617, a 1/2" shanked SCKCR tool and a #5620, a 1/2" shanked SCBCR tool, both marketed by Tormach. They look well made, I originally wanted them in 3/4" shank, but the largest LMS sold was 1/2", Tormach does sell the tools with the larger shank, but getting them is more of an ordeal. They use the CCMT 32.5x style insert RE: Anyone Ever Dealt With Tormach - the penguin - 09-15-2016 the pictures, Damn!! Now I have to order more AXA blocks from CDCO RE: Anyone Ever Dealt With Tormach - EdK - 09-15-2016 Looks good Jack. Mine was supposed to arrive today according to the USPS tracking information but they're stuck at the post office in the big city. Ed |
