ENCO is going away... - Highpower - 06-17-2016 If there is anything at ENCO that has been on your want list, it looks like you have 1 year left to get it. As of August 2017 all products will be sold at full MSC retail prices. It was fun while it lasted.... http://www.mscdirect.com/enco RE: ENCO is going away... - EdK - 06-17-2016 (06-17-2016, 07:46 PM)Highpower Wrote: If there is anything at ENCO that has been on your want list, it looks like you have 1 year left to get it. McMaster will get most of my business when this happens. Ed RE: ENCO is going away... - Highpower - 06-17-2016 Now Ed.... You know there is ALWAYS fine print! On a lot of items it won't mean much. Some things though made a BIG difference for me. Like the Royal live center I bought from Enco for $300 LESS than what MSC wanted for the very same tool. Gonna miss those 30% off codes... http://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/00102335 RE: ENCO is going away... - TomG - 06-17-2016 What fine print? All I get is an error 404. Tom RE: ENCO is going away... - Dr Stan - 06-17-2016 Well fortunately there will still be Travers Tool for the mid-range and Shars for the cheap stuff. Actually a lot of Shars is not too bad, especially for imported tools. RE: ENCO is going away... - pepi - 06-18-2016 Been looking at ENCO equipment for some time, as long as I have messed with metal. For me it never seemed to be that big of a deal, by the time you get to the shipping the price was jacked. MSC has local distributors here in Atlanta, that is a game changer. Did I mention that ENCO web site totally sucked, another huge turn off. I see the change as a plus RE: ENCO is going away... - EdK - 06-18-2016 (06-17-2016, 09:18 PM)TomG Wrote: What fine print? All I get is an error 404. Hmmm, the link is still working for me. Ed RE: ENCO is going away... - TomG - 06-18-2016 It works now. Must have been a hiccup last night. MSC is the destroyer of all good industrial supply houses. They did the same thing with J&L here in Detroit. Took a nice well run family business and doubled the prices. I had an account with J&L, but never bought another thing from them once MSC took over. Tom RE: ENCO is going away... - EdK - 06-18-2016 (06-18-2016, 09:30 AM)TomG Wrote: It works now. Must have been a hiccup last night. I remember that. I also had an account with J&L. I was first getting into metalworking back then. They did the same thing with Enco when Enco had stores all over the US. Ed |
