Hand deburring tool - wawoodman - 11-10-2015
Now, it certainly seems that they are so simple, even a child could do it. Then, why are there so many different blades available? Am I missing something obvious, or will two or three basics do me?

I have two deburring tools. Both have the same type of blade, so I dunno.

Very much like index-able carbide inserts. Some work better than others depending on the type of material you are working on and the application. Straight edges, holes, curved surfaces etc. AFAIK most manufactures will list best uses for each of their blades. http://www.noga.com/nogaProducts.php?catID=hd32
I just keep swapping them until I find one that works smoothly on the part in hand.

Just a basic blade will deburr most anything, but what is important is to be sure to get material specific blades.
That can make the difference between, "job well done", and "job looks like crap" after deburring.

I like the blades with a symetric grind on them because they cut both directions and tend to be more general purpose.

I have a cheap one that sort of works but isn't flash. Perhaps I have the wrong blades. I did look at some other option but the choice confused me
