Quick 45* setup for the bandsaw. - aametalmaster - 04-07-2012
I cut lots of 45* angles in my little 4x6 bandsaw when i am doing my wrought iron projects and turning the vise was a pain. So i scribed a 45* line and used a 3/8" transfer punch to mark a center hole to tap 3/8-16 then i screwed a bolt in the hole. It doesn't interfere with my sliding vise and can be removed quick if i need the bigger cuts...Bob

Hi Bob,
So the piece to be cut is registered against the end of the fixed jaw and the bolt to get the 45 degree angle, is that correct?

Yup it just lays in there rs against the vise edge and ls against the bolt then tighten it down...Bob

I am on my 3rd 4x6. I am building from scraps my own version which prob will be a 5x7. I have some of the parts made and the 27:1 gearbox to drive it...Bob
