Starter / Generator - f350ca - 04-02-2014 Have a Hitachi Starter / Generator off a Yamaha golf cart that I want to repurpose to start the Wisconsin for my wood processor. I need to know the maximum recommended rpm these things are designed for, so I can design the belt drive, want to give it as much mechanical advantage as I can to spin this thing. I've scoured the internet, hundreds of hits for rebuilt and new ones but no info on specs. Its model number is GSB107-02 , no info on the unit, I have and can find a wiring diagram but thats it. What is odd, is the gas engines they bolt to are rated at a max of 3600 rpm. Yet, when I look at pulley ratios that would appear to give double that as a generator, which seems really high! I started hunting at exploded diagrams, and just got really confused when I found a 10:1 geared application (which implied just a starter). RE: Starter / Generator - f350ca - 04-08-2014 Stopped into the golf course maintenance shop and got some info on the unit. Apparently they're rated for 8,000 rpm continuous and 12,000 rpm burst for 3 minutes. Good thing I inquired, was going to try a 14 inch pulley on the engine which might have done it in, a 12 inch will give me 8400rpm, close enough for country work. |
