Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - marfaguy - 06-25-2013 As I had mentioned in a couple of other posts I planned on getting a Grizzly G9972Z 11x26 Lathe this Summer. I pulled the trigger lastweek. Earlier today the shipping company SAIA called to setup the delivery. I've built (well actually probably WAY over built) a table for it. I also went ahead and got a precision machinist level from Shars a couple of months ago. So in the next couple of days my Father in Law and I are going to have some fun setting this bad boy up. If any body is interested I'll grab some pictures. Well you know the old saying......"If there aren't pictures.....it didn't happen!" Congrats on your new machine! Best Regards, Russ RE: Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - Highpower - 06-25-2013 Ahhhh.... the smell of a new machine. Gotta love it. Don't let the excitement of the trucks arrival get the better of you though. Make sure you give the lathe a good looking over, and make sure all the parts and accessories are there BEFORE you sign for the delivery. Make a note of any damages or missing items on the freight bill if you do accept the shipment. After that, have fun making chips! RE: Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - EdK - 06-26-2013 Congratulations on the new tool, but I don't see any stand or level so I don't think you have them. Ed RE: Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - Mayhem - 06-26-2013 Give the guy a break guys. If there are no pics, you should set an example and post a pic with your response. Something like this: [attachment=5544] RE: Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - marfaguy - 06-26-2013 It's here! Here's the old MicroMark 7X16 on the table I built a couple of months ago for the new Lathe. [attachment=5546] I did a partial cutout on the bottom of the legs so I could add levelers. [attachment=5547] The table was leveled with a carpenters level. I know from setting up the MicroMark that's the table is high on the left about .004-.007 Which is what I want. [attachment=5548] Uncrating the beast [attachment=5549] [attachment=5551] and finally up on the table. [attachment=5550] This weekend I'll start bolting down and leveling with the machinist level. RE: Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - marfaguy - 06-26-2013 Oh and for Ed... The machinist level. [attachment=5552] RE: Grizzly G9972Z gets delivered tomorrow - wrustle - 06-26-2013 Very nice! Quite the increase in size as well. Now that we've seen pics......next up......VIDEO! Lets see some chips! Congrats on your new machine!
