Kids wagon - Bustednuklz - 12-01-2012 Greetings All, I am looking for a plan to build a wagon for a little friend of mine. What I am really wanting to find is the plans for the steering linkage, mostly the angles for the steering arms I would like to build a wagon with 'car' type steering, not the type with a solid front axle on a center pivot. I have seen the frames for sale on line, and you would build the deck and attach it. Not as much fun that way! Anybody have a link to some plans?? Thanks in advance Steve RE: Kids wagon - Brian - 12-01-2012 RE angles for arms if you take a line from the centre of the king pin to the centre of the rear axle, the arm must be on this line this will give you akerman angles and true steering dont forget to tilt the top of the king pin backwards a little to get castor effect this will make the steering self centre. Have fun -----Brian. They carry spindles, hubs, steering linkages, etc. at ridiculously low prices. Jack's Small Engines Tom RE: Kids wagon - PixMan - 12-05-2012 Hey TomG, THANK YOU for that link! I've bookmarked it in my Favorites because they have the OE style shear pins for my Husqvarna 10530SBE snowblower, something two local dealers told me were no longer available. Every other part I might need for the snowblower and my Crapsman generator is there too! Nice site indeed, thanks again. RE: Kids wagon - TomG - 12-06-2012 No problem Ken. It's not a sight that I am familiar with, it just popped up in my search for go cart parts. Come to think of it though, I do need some parts for my Honda snow blower. Tom RE: Kids wagon - Bustednuklz - 12-06-2012 Thanks for the link Tom G I have put it in my favourites. I am actually looking to build a wagon, (radio flyer?) not a go kart. However, he will eventually out grow the wagon........... I might use that link sooner than later Thanks again Steve RE: Kids wagon - TomG - 12-06-2012 Steve, A lot of the stuff you need to make your wagon is the same as used on go carts. Check out the cart section in the link and you'll see what I mean. Tom |
