RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - wawoodman - 10-13-2016 When I was in college, I worked a night shift at Cargill, bagging seed corn. One night, I was running bags through the sewing machine. A moment's inattention, and no thumb nail. Doc said he couldn't have removed it any better in surgery. And no, I wasn't wearing gloves at the time. RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 10-14-2016 Got'r done. Ed [attachment=13769] RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - Vinny - 10-14-2016 Lookin good! RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - TomG - 10-15-2016 It's coming along nicely Ed. Tom RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 10-15-2016 Didn't get as much done on this today as I wanted to. I was hoping to get the mounting bracket done but just got it machined to size and marked up for machining. Also got the holes drilled and tapped. Ed [attachment=13770] RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 10-16-2016 One side done. It sure generated a lot of chips in a hurry. Ed [attachment=13786] RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - DaveH - 10-16-2016 So far ............... so good DaveH RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - PixMan - 10-17-2016 Nice to see you taking off a lot of metal quickly, Ed. It must be nice to have a machine capable of doing it after struggling for too long. ;) RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 10-17-2016 (10-17-2016, 11:25 AM)PixMan Wrote: It must be nice to have a machine capable of doing it after struggling for too long. You got that right Ken. It makes me actually want to tackle projects now rather than dreading how long it's going to take. Ed RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - TomG - 10-17-2016 Ed, Did you try plunge milling for the roughing out part? It's quicker and a lot easier on the end mill. Tom |
