I thing the bit was slipping in the collet yesterday? .002"doc, 7ipm feed and 54,000rpm. The top engraving was done with a very fine endmill .5mm? The second was cut with a three sided 30 degree tool. The engraving is .135" tall on aluminium plate. I did flatten the stock on my shaper to make sure there wasn't an issue with surface irregularity. Shawn RE: Converting a X2 clone to CNC - Shawn - 05-30-2014 And yes my girlfriends last name is Steele RE: Converting a X2 clone to CNC - stevec - 05-31-2014 I'd love to see that 3 sided 30° tool. Nice looking engraving Shawn. RE: Converting a X2 clone to CNC - DaveH - 05-31-2014 Very nice Shawn, 54000 rpm that's quick DaveH RE: Converting a X2 clone to CNC - Shawn - 05-31-2014 Thanks guys The grinder is advertised as 54,000 rpm but I have no real idea how fast it is. I can't tell the difference in the engraving between the lowest and highest setting so I just use the low speed to save on air. Steve, these are similar to the bits I'm have, I ordered mine from china and they were cheap but I only plan to engrave plastic and aluminum. Shawn RE: Converting a X2 clone to CNC - DaveH - 05-31-2014 They look nicely made DaveH |
