RE: Micrometer types - Mayhem - 03-20-2014 I have the same one Ed - you are going to love using it. RE: Micrometer types - stevec - 03-20-2014 Great tool Ed, I just hope it doesn't eat batteries like my 293-705. I've taken to removing the battery after using the mike (or when I put the tools away, like whenever that happens ) RE: Micrometer types - EdK - 03-20-2014 (03-19-2014, 11:04 PM)PixMan Wrote: Wow! Nice tool those are. Ken, I just got it yesterday. It sat out in the cold weather while I was at work so I brought the box in the house and let it sit in the sealed shipping box for a couple of hours so it would slowly come up to room temperature to prevent condensation. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I got it based on the comments of members on the forum. My eyes aren't as good at they use to be so it'll be nice to use this new micrometer. Ed RE: Micrometer types - DaveH - 03-20-2014 Very nice Ed. DaveH RE: Micrometer types - PixMan - 03-20-2014 I got my barely used one off of Craigslist for the paltry sum of $75. Where did you buy your new one and did you get a good deal? Ed RE: Micrometer types - PixMan - 03-21-2014 You did really well at that price Ed! Most of the big box tool vendors (MSC, ENCo, etc.) sell that tool for at least $15 more than that. Well done! RE: Micrometer types - EdK - 03-21-2014 I guess I did do pretty good. Although I admit that I cheated a bit by using $15 worth of Amazon points to get the price down. Amazon $132 Viking Gage $140 Enco $160 Zorotools.com $165 MSC $173 Ed RE: Micrometer types - Mayhem - 03-21-2014 I picked mine up for $130 in December. It was my Christmas gift to me RE: Micrometer types - DaveH - 03-21-2014 Well my micrometer cost $10 and I got a free digital caliper with it. " Bluudy tool snobs " DaveH |
