Rob Id like to ask about that  taper attach .   what  type of steel and did ya harden it ? ...  i can use one for my Sb 10 heavy lathe   so if ya have an extra one send it my way .   we can trade something .. but with your talent doent look like ya need much ....

What id also like to know is when ya add a taper attach one  on a lathe that doenst have fit for it  do you need change the lead screw  or make attch to accommodate?
thanks

Hi Kenny ,

What steel do you have ?  any thing will do just cut it up and weld it together . I used plan old HR and  CR mild steel .

Gave it a wee clean of today ,

There is a series of holes along the back of the lathe bed that facilitates the TTA being bolted anywhere along its length .

I think the SB TTA is of the travelling type   , it moves with the carriage , same as the Boxford lathe I think .  Should not be to hard to make  Popcorn

Rob

Rob kinda lost yur post over the water fall . few pages back ... if I may say what nice work ya do sir....  Thanks for ideas ..it will be on my to do list but not rightaway ...   maybe ill look ya up in time of need . Right now I don't have much material just bunch of cutoffs some lenghths or round stock ect.        getting garage shop together ...gota start slow handles and levers and stuff .. if I may ask are you a tool maker BC sure looks like ya have the background .. again nice work sir

Me I am just a fixer of machines that pratts about in his home shop when work lets me lol . good to see you have your lad involved in the shop ,thumbs up from me .

This is so true Rob. I enjoy the process more than I do the results, usually anyway. Smile Working in the shop is very therapeutic.
