RE: Latest Delivery - Highpower - 02-07-2016 Quiz: What is wrong with this picture? (I'll even thrown in a subtle hint...) [attachment=12683] [attachment=12684] RE: Latest Delivery - EdK - 02-07-2016 I spotted it right away Willie. Did you put the old one back in or did you receive the incorrect bearings? Ed RE: Latest Delivery - Sunset Machine - 02-07-2016 You have a big hole where the seal goes, exposing the marbles. I finally had to change belt speeds on my mill/drill and found that some darn mice built a nest and peed all over the bearing. Apparently it's SEALED. I just wanted to get a picture of the inside of the drive housing before I started cleaning it out. All of the black crud in there is finely shredded v-belt material. Had the mill for several years now and I can't believe those bearings haven't crashed and burned. Not a drop of oil or grease to be found in them. They have been running dry the entire time. I hadn't pulled the shaft out yet when I took the pic though. I did get the correct bearings (sort of). I ordered Timken bearings. I got boxes that say Timken on them. The bearings inside are marked Fafnir. (Japan) But they are the correct size, with double seals, so that is what I'm using. RE: Latest Delivery - PixMan - 02-08-2016 Either are very high quality bearings. Avoid certain offshore makes though. |
