RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - Rickabilly - 09-01-2013 I don't think many folks would put in the effort you have Darren, well done. I suppose that's why so much of a tool's value rests on the handles and controls being intact, just a few missing handles and they are furnace fodder to many buyers. Good work DaveH RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - Mayhem - 09-02-2013 Thanks guys. I need to find the time to finish it off but it's not a job worth rushing RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - EdK - 09-02-2013 Nice work on the mill Darren. That's going to be a real nice mill once it's all up and running. Ed RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - Mayhem - 09-05-2013 I knew I had posted this elsewhere (as referred to in post 63 above): http://www.metalworkingfun.com/showthread.php?tid=727&pid=23636#pid23636 RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - Mayhem - 09-07-2013 Today I reassembled the back gears. I forgot to take pictures of the actual process but it was a simple matter of 4 bearings, 2 gears, one fork and a lifting cam. [attachment=6356] I made a new knob for the engage/disengage lever, which I was worried may look a little odd (I made it the same size as all the others). I placed it on the head to see the scale and I'm actually quite pleased with how it looks. [attachment=6357] I also put the belt guard and drive assembly on to, just for a quick look. [attachment=6358] [attachment=6359] RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - EdK - 09-07-2013 That's really starting to come together Darren. Ed RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - TomG - 09-07-2013 It's coming along nicely Darren. Are you in the home stretch? Tom RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - Mayhem - 09-07-2013 Thanks guys. I'll be on the home stretch when Kondia get me the parts I want! RE: Kondia FV-1 Head disassembly - Highpower - 09-07-2013 It looks great Darren. Using the engine stand is a brilliant idea. |
