Yup, it's certainly much better than without it. Ed RE: Mini-Lathe Bearing Puller - EdK - 07-06-2023 Finally got the aluminum spacer done to replace the plastic spacer with. Haven't spent a lot of time in the shop lately. It took a while to bore that out. Either I'm getting used to the gear noise or it has settled down some. After running the lathe non stop for a couple of hours the head-stock where the bearings are located was slightly warm, not even lukewarm though. I think the preload is good for now. Of course I have to undo that to install the spacer. Ed [attachment=18388] |
