RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Highpower - 10-03-2015 (10-02-2015, 01:19 PM)Roadracer_Al Wrote: The stuff I *really* like would not fit comfortably into our domestic budget. So the Bugatti Veyron is on hold for now? Just send the Z-28 over to Roush Performance and tell them money is no object. I think it would look good on you. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - arvidj - 10-03-2015 I am sure that Al, based on the disclosure of the Volkswagen emissions testing procedures, and for environmental reasons only, decided to delay his Veyron purchase. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Roadracer_Al - 10-03-2015 Oddly, since I like fast things, the Veyron has never particularly appealed to me. Too "jelly-bean-y". Yeah, I could get behind a little spa treatment for the old girl. :) RE: Latest UPS Delivery - EdK - 10-07-2015 These showed up today. I'm hoping the cheater lenses will help me to better see what I'm doing. Ed [attachment=11918] RE: Latest UPS Delivery - EdK - 10-08-2015 Tool porn alert. Ed [attachment=11919] [attachment=11920] RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Roadracer_Al - 10-08-2015 I have a ROC set and have wanted to replace them since the day I got them. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - EdK - 10-08-2015 (10-08-2015, 06:08 PM)Roadracer_Al Wrote: There's a guy at work that's getting into metalworking so I sold him my mini-lathe for $50 and have been giving him my ROC tooling and measuring instruments for free. Most I've long since replaced with better stuff so they were just sitting there gathering dust. He's got a couple of kids and can't afford to invest much money in his new hobby so I've been feeding him my unused stuff for free. I'd rather see it go to someone that can use it than to sell it for the little I'd get. Ed RE: Latest UPS Delivery - PixMan - 10-08-2015 I'd done a lot of that in the past too. I've gotten most of my substandard tools gifted away now. Nice telescopic gauges BTW. I have the Starrett versions and they're good, but I think the feel on the Mitutoyo is a bit better, more positive. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Mayhem - 10-09-2015 I've got a couple of mics sitting in Ken's basement that I cannot seem to give away... RE: Latest UPS Delivery - PixMan - 10-09-2015 (10-09-2015, 06:21 AM)Mayhem Wrote: I've got a couple of mics sitting in Ken's basement that I cannot seem to give away... And neither can I. Oh wait, I think I did actually give them away. I'll have to check. Add to the pile a Mitutoyo 103-225 10" to 11" that I have and doubt I'll ever use. Such a quandary I have: A set of cheap Chinese made 0-1" through 11-12" in an equally cheap wooden case which my late dad had bought from Enco. It sits on a workbench and I've used ONE, once. I had initially thought I'd build up a set of the Mitutoyo 103's to replace the whole set, but then realized the set is perfectly fine for what I need, has all the standards and is in a compact place. So I got one Mit in a huge wooden clamshell case that collects dust and probably rust. |
