RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Mayhem - 09-19-2015 I have one of those automatic drifts and they work well. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Highpower - 09-20-2015 (09-19-2015, 06:19 AM)ieezitin Wrote: My Nikcole insert does not sit in line or parallel with the tool holder either, like you i was thinking it was a dud. The last time I used mine I was getting some chatter and it wasn't cutting well. (Parting/grooving blade.) I'd never had that problem before. I backed the tool out of the cut and noticed that the blade wasn't sitting in line with the holder as well, so I removed the blade and cleaned everything up with some brake cleaner and a shot of compressed air. Put the blade back on and tightened down the holding screw. It was then straight and parallel with the tool holder, and cut perfectly like it used to. The only thing I can think of, is that vibration from the machine had loosened the holding screw since all my lathe tool holders have always sat on top of the head stock of the lathe. That will be changing soon though. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Highpower - 09-27-2015 These arrived yesterday. http://www.metalworkingfun.com/thread-2849-post-48939.html#pid48939 RE: Latest UPS Delivery - RobWilson - 09-29-2015 Evening chaps Well the rest of my chemicals arrived this week so I will be cracking on with project X ,also a few books arrived to Been after a set of these for donkeys ,they don't come up for sale to often , and these are 1st's n cracking condition . And a few ye oldie tool catalogues , from when Willie was a lad dating from 1902 t0 1928 , I just love old tool catalogues ,pure porn Rob RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Vinny - 09-29-2015 Let me know if you ever encounter a Bromson No 7 mill in one of those books. I have one and have never seen any info on it. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - EdK - 09-29-2015 Nice books Rob. I should start acquiring some old books like that so when I get too old and feeble to run my machines, I have some tool porn to peruse. Ed RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Charles Spencer - 09-30-2015 I didn't know Pratt & Whitney was also in Chicago. I've bought several items from old P&W employees. My wife said she would be happier if I stayed out of Connecticut. RE: Latest UPS Delivery - texx - 09-30-2015 i dont seem to get much fun stuff in the mail nower days . just got 20kg of green coffee beans yesterday but that is just the norm i get that about every 4 or 5 weeks ,so very mundane here for me , maybe i need to spend more time on ebay . i am going to ring cast metal services this morning and get a price on petrobond cos i have already had enough of trying to get this green sand to be any good . had 3 tries at casting my flyweehl and not had a result i like yet . johno RE: Latest UPS Delivery - krv3000 - 10-01-2015 nice books rob the only ting I get in the post is bills RE: Latest UPS Delivery - Roadracer_Al - 10-02-2015 I got a big pile of car suspension parts in the post. I had been itching for a new-to-me car, but decided to bite the bullet and do all the deferred maintenance and upkeep on my '02 Camaro Z28 6-speed convertible.... in red. It's a real "Mid-Life-Crisis-Mobile". Funny thing about looking at cars - I don't fancy anything I can afford any better than the car I have. The stuff I *really* like would not fit comfortably into our domestic budget. My wife might get upset, but I think I might snoop around on the 'net and look at what it would take to install a supercharger or turbo, more to the point, if it's even legally possible in California. Because 325hp just isn't enough. |
