RE: Some New Tools I Bought - Wongster - 07-14-2012 Ed, That's expensive! I ever dropped some stuff in the cart of an online seller. the shipping turned out to be the same as the cost of the items. Scary... Regards, Wong RE: Some New Tools I Bought - TOM REED - 07-15-2012 I have bought lots of items from CTC origionally I was going to get my RF45 CLONE from him but after 3 months his supplier could not deliver. I got my ER40 collet set from him and many items such as stamps, height gauge, micrometer heads hell so many items I can't recall, all were of good quality, I found that if you buy a few items, some heavy and some lighter items and request normal postal shipping which was fairly reasonable. Anytime I wanted something in a hurry I just went with their normal shipping and items were in my hand within a week. HEINE is not a good communicator via e-mail. I will soon order a set of gear cutters from him once I figure out which ones I need or will suit mu future needs best. tom RE: Some New Tools I Bought - Mayhem - 08-02-2012 Ed - just an update. I sent an email to CTCtools regarding some ER32 collets and got a very prompt response from him. His follow up emails were also very fast. I wonder if your email ended up in his SPAM filter? If you want to PM me, I'll give you the email address for him that I have used. RE: Some New Tools I Bought - EdK - 08-03-2012 (08-02-2012, 10:48 PM)Mayhem Wrote: Ed - just an update. Darren, Yes, please PM me the email address. Thanks! Ed RE: Some New Tools I Bought - Mayhem - 08-03-2012 PM sent! RE: Some New Tools I Bought - Wongster - 08-03-2012 My order from CTC Tools usually took a week or 2. The latest, a 50mm boring head set & 50mm face mill, are on its way. Order placed last Sunday. From tracking, it's on it's way. Shipping, slightly less than 1/3 of the goods. Bought this locally the day before for £450. Think it's overpriced, like lots of stuff here: Taiwan made. Way-Train UE100S. But the moveable jaw is so much shorter... Regards, Wong RE: Some New Tools I Bought - TOM REED - 08-03-2012 A nice little saw Wong but you are right very pricey esp compared to the chicom one that I had given to me. tom RE: Some New Tools I Bought - Wongster - 08-03-2012 Thanks Tom. There is another one that is at 1/2 the price, also made in Taiwan. But its a little bigger for my shop. Ed, in your search for the collets, did you come across any MT2 with M10 drawbar threads that is of reasonable quality at a reasonable price? I find that using the MT2 collets give more rigidity than the ER16 MT2 adapter. Should have just gotten the MT3 option when purchasing the Wabeco... And, sorry to hijack your thread. You're talking about tooling so it's not really a hijack, IMHO. Ed RE: Some New Tools I Bought - Mayhem - 08-03-2012 Hey Wong - please tell me that price was in SG$ and GBP. If in SGD, then it is about the same price we pay here. Do a google search on 6x4 bandsaws, as a lot of modifications that people have done to these, including the vise jaws. |
