RE: Setting Up My PM935 Mill - EdK - 04-30-2016 Yea, I took a look at the boxes of parts I have and scratched my head wondering if all of those parts came off of the mill. I'm sure I'll figure it out, it's just going to take some time. I spent this evening cleaning the waxy preservative coating from the knee since that's the first piece that needs to go on and it's the one piece I'll need help installing. The rest I can do alone. I do see some faint light at the end of the tunnel. Ed RE: Setting Up My PM935 Mill - f350ca - 04-30-2016 You better not decide to move now Ed. RE: Setting Up My PM935 Mill - Vinny - 05-01-2016 My dad was a machinist at GM. When the machine repair guys would come out to repair one of the machines they'd lay out all the parts they took out of the machine. When they went to lunch, one of the other guys he worked with would take a part from a job and place it with the parts they took off the machine. Then he'd watch as they tried to figure out where it went! Then he'd watch as they tried to figure out where it went! Typical behavior in a lot of shops. That came up quite a bit in shops I worked in whenever there were around 300 pieces of an automatic transmission spread out over a couple of work benches. They would add parts to the pile, or take some away, or simply swap them around to get them out of order. The ones that got caught playing this little game usually came in the next day to find their tool boxes with newly added zerk fittings installed in the back and an empty 30 gallon grease drum nearby. Ed RE: Setting Up My PM935 Mill - EdK - 05-01-2016 Well it's a start. Knee on, lead screw and gears greased. Next will be the saddle then the table. The table has a lot of the waxy stuff on it so that's going to take some elbow grease. Luckily it's 52F and rising so I can open the windows and get some ventilation going.
