RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - awemawson - 04-15-2017 That broad grin tells it all 👍 RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - wawoodman - 04-15-2017 (04-14-2017, 07:42 PM)f350ca Wrote: We put in at the head of the rapids, so had to paddle like a bugger to get up stream enough to get the motor going. Why am I picturing you rowing fast enough to jump start the motor, like we had to do with my '60 Falcon? RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Pete O - 04-15-2017 That's not metalworking. That's metal cruisin'. Why were you rowing in your '60 Falcon? Did you flood the engine? RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - ScrapMetal - 04-16-2017 Finally have something "picturesque" to post. It's not a big project or even done to the highest of standards BUT, it amounted to a world of browny points with the wife. She carries a small screwdriver in her purse for tightening up the screws in glasses frames. Apparently the little plastic handle broke the other day and she asked me if I could glue it back together. Looking at it, I could but it would be a mess and have a questionable life span. Naturally I told her I would just make a new one... Another instance of spending thousands of dollars on equipment to replace a .05 cent part. -Ron RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Mayhem - 04-16-2017 Very nice Ron. I probably would of just handed her a bottle of loc-tite and spent the time on one of my projects but that maybe why I am always in the dog house RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - ScrapMetal - 04-17-2017 (04-16-2017, 07:39 PM)Mayhem Wrote: Very nice Ron. First of all, it makes my wife very happy that I would make an effort like this "for her" (scads of bonus points there). At the same time this is used to justify my recent purchase of a spin indexer, set of collets, and the Hamer digital 3D taster I bought a couple of weeks ago. It's a "win, win, win" for a couple of hours of effort in the shop where I want to be any way. Been with the wife for over 30 years and still going strong. -Ron RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Vinny - 04-17-2017 Good thinkin Ron! RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - f350ca - 04-17-2017 Ah but one Oh Sh1t and those scads of bonus points are gone, and you have to start all over. While that may be true I still find it works best to keep the wife as happy as possible. It sure seems to make my life much easier. Now do go thinking that I'm some kind of saint or I kowtow to my wife. The "rest of the story" is that I married well to begin with. As my wife says, "You're an assh###, my father was and my brother is an assh### but you are all the right kind of assh###s. She puts up with quite a bit from me so I do what I can to please her. It's definitely worth the effort in my case. -Ron |
