RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - f350ca - 10-30-2016 That degreaser did a great job. RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Pete O - 10-30-2016 Oh crap. I thought all it needed was a good clean and a spring clip for the dividing fingers. RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Mayhem - 10-31-2016 Not your fault Pete and for the price I am certainly not complaining, as you practically gave it to me. Besides, gives me something to do I was very impressed with the degreaser Greg - it practically turned brown as soon as the first part went in. Soaked for 10 minutes and then rinse. You use it neat, so I can see how I could use up 20L very quickly if not careful. I'm going to get a spray bottle to use. RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - PixMan - 10-31-2016 I got a nice 10" horizontal/vertical rotary table with tailstock for sale. Sad, I'd make that for you if I had time. If I had a machine. RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Mayhem - 10-31-2016 (10-31-2016, 08:07 AM)PixMan Wrote: ...If I had a machine. Have you sold the mill already? The 10" RT would be tempting but the weight would be a killer. I can put the dividing head back together without the lock and use it to make the part. I'm looking forward to the challenge. RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Dr Stan - 10-31-2016 (10-30-2016, 04:26 PM)dallen Wrote: I don't see it being all that hard to free hand the two cuts that need to be made on the mill, a slitting saw will take care of cutting the two clamping parts loose. Dallen is correct. For the profile all one really needs are the two flats for the drilled & taped hole and the clearance hole. Just have to use some longer mounting bolts, or counter bore for heads on a socket head bolt. Took another look at the part. Is there another crack other than the one which broke off the "lug"? A fellow came by Sunday for a test drive, of course it checked out perfect. Coming this weekend (probably Sunday) to load it out. I'll miss having a shop a little, but have so many other sources should I need an occasional favor. OTOH, I'm have access to a nice little woodworking shop...and a guy to run it. :) RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Dr Stan - 10-31-2016 (10-31-2016, 08:29 AM)Mayhem Wrote:(10-31-2016, 08:07 AM)PixMan Wrote: ...If I had a machine. It is a little more complicated than that, as it has a horizontal slot as well as the vertical one, so the two arms are (mostly) independent of the base. I was hoping that my drawing made this clear but I have included another photo below: [attachment=13862] RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Mayhem - 11-01-2016 (10-31-2016, 07:48 PM)PixMan Wrote: ...Looks that way. As you say, you have other options available to you, without the ongoing cost of maintenance. Of course, you are welcome to come use my lathe, mill, surface grinder and shaper at any time Did you move all the mill tooling with the mill? |
