RE: Storage Building - ETC57 - 07-12-2012 Ya Greg those sea cans are a far cry from square. and size, it's like shoes! All depends on who made them. The shop looks to be coming along nicely!! Jerry. RE: Storage Building - Tony Wells - 07-13-2012 A friend of mine is considering doing virtually the same thing, except he wants to do his all steel, welded. I'll see if he is interested in looking at your pictures. Looks like it is coming along well. RE: Storage Building - f350ca - 07-13-2012 Not progressing as fast as I'd hoped, maybe not hot by Texas standards but hot for Canada. My igloo is melting. Too warm for me till the sun gets behind the trees, about 3 in the afternoon. Will be putting a steel roof on it, but not welded. The steel was delivered this morn. RE: Storage Building - stevec - 07-13-2012 I'm proud of you Greg, by 3 in the afternoon I'm ready for a beer and work (if any was done) is over. RE: Storage Building - f350ca - 07-13-2012 3 in the afternoon is still early, BUT I don't do mornings. The early bird may get the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese. Todays progress, layed out and cut all the parts for the trusses. Its a kit some assembly required. RE: Storage Building - EdK - 07-13-2012 Looks like you've got an alert helper guarding the wood. Ed RE: Storage Building - sasquatch - 07-13-2012 This is a great looking project Greg,, i'm likin this idea, post a few more pics when you get the trusses up. RE: Storage Building - DaveH - 07-14-2012 Greg, I don't do mornings either Looking good, I like the dog DaveH RE: Storage Building - f350ca - 07-16-2012 Still too hot here for this cowboy, but managed to get the trusses built. Now to stand them up. Going to be interesting, I don't have an end wall to easily brace the first one to. RE: Storage Building - sasquatch - 07-16-2012 Good looking progress Greg, and i hear ya, too friggin HOT to get too involved , we're not 21 anymore!! Re: Nothing to brace the first one too/,,,,, how about scabbing a couple of 2x6 etc together length wise and tacking them to each of your'e built up beams on the container roof?? Then brace the first four or so to that till you can get some strapping started. Bit of thunder happening right now, so MAYBE we will get cooled off a bit. |
