RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - awemawson - 01-17-2016 Oi, stop picking on Tom and Dave or they'll cry and their Mum's'll sort you out after school RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - Vinny - 01-17-2016 (01-17-2016, 03:27 PM)Dr Stan Wrote:(01-17-2016, 06:14 AM)Pete O Wrote:(01-16-2016, 08:01 PM)TomG Wrote: I spent the afternoon working on a design for a set of scope mounts on my smart phone, because I could. With some of the stuff auto correct kicks out, I'm not sure I'd want it to auto correct! RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - rleete - 01-17-2016 Dear autocorrect: I will NEVER use "ducking" in a sentence. RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - Shawn - 01-17-2016 I have been using Fusion 360 for a few months and while the 3D modelling is very good the CAM is even better. I have been building a helicopter simulator and all the parts were modelled in Fusion. Here are a couple shots of the main panel. RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - Vinny - 01-18-2016 You and me both, Pete! That's why I stick with hand sketches, the finished product ALWAYS looks magnitudes better!! RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - Shawn - 01-18-2016 It can be tough to live up to the renders for sure, I think every part on this panel was made at least twice! Keeps the bar high though? RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - awemawson - 01-18-2016 Has anyone reading got experience of using a 4th axis with fusion? Looking at a few forums it seems that that bit of the code isn't finished yet. Indexing is I think done, but not continuous rotation machining, but t is under development. It was the 4th axis issue that got me looking around as its a limitation in my rather old version of FeatureCAM. So I hope that they do sort it ? RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - Mayhem - 01-18-2016 Nice work Shawn. Me - I hope they have a filter that will put machine marks and poorly done chamfers onto the image, as an alternative to the default glossy, mirror finish, with reflection filter. Then it would better resemble my work RE: OnShape, a Free 3D CAD Program - Pete O - 01-18-2016 Yes very nice Shawn. I think you should keep going and build a whole helicopter. |
