RE: Workholding - 19mm Wheel Blanks - Wongster - 08-17-2015 Hi guys, Its me again, seeking advice. When we're finalizing the design for the rollers, the person requested that the chamfer on the inner side of the rim to be trimmed off. I was thinking of doing that with a bigger endmill (3mm to 4mm) to mill off the chamfer before bringing in the 1mm endmill for the spokes. But if I would like to keep to one tool (the 1mm endmill) for the entire job, would I be breaking the tiny endmill? The cross section with some dimensions: Dimensions are in mm. The 1mm carbide endmill (or slot drill?) has 2 flutes. Was running it at 150mm at 10,000rpm with doc of 0.2mm per pass for the spokes. If I'm to do it with the 1mm, am thinking of going at 0.2mm or even 0.1mm per pass to clear the 0.78mm distance. What do you think? Wong |
