RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - stevec - 08-09-2014 Ed, as we're well familiar with Greg's dealings it'll be no charge to him and you'll pay the shipping. Of course, I've not used the tailstock but it's in a box somewhere if I need it! Might help someone else who's thinking of getting a spinindexer... RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - EdK - 08-10-2014 I looked for those tail stocks but they don't seem to be available over here. RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - Arbalest - 08-10-2014 There's a complete package on eBay at the moment. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5C-Spin-Index-Fixture-w-Tailstock-new-/310912094254?_trksid=p2054897.l5658 RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - EdK - 08-10-2014 I don't need the spin indexer as I already have one but I did check ebay a while ago for just the tailstock and came up empty. Ed RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - Arbalest - 08-10-2014 They've got them in Canada, any good? http://www.accusizetools.ca/products_details.asp?big=4&small=33&proid=364 And here. Picture shows the spin indexer but says "tailstock" only in the text. https://www.huronindustrial.com/workholding/collet-fixtures/tailstock-for-8-552-003 RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - stevec - 08-10-2014 Had a peek at the Accusizetools link as I hadn't heard of them before. Makes me beam with Canadian pride at their spelling "MATHING TAILSTOCK FOR THE 5C SPIN INDEX". Unless, of course, there is such a thing as a "MATHING TAILSTOCK". I may have gone with that second one if I had seen it back when I was looking. Thanks for the links but I think I'll continue on with my project. Those links might help somebody in the future though. Ed RE: Spin Indexer Tailstock - EdK - 08-21-2014 I got some work done on this project this week. I finished the arbor. I started out with what you see in the first picture. I bought two of those off of ebay eons ago for dirt cheap. They have an MT-2 taper. At the time I bought them, I had intended to use one in an indexer project, that's why I bought them. Check out the cool chatter pattern on that puppy. I used the Nikcole Mini System to cut the groove. It cut it like butter. Next step is to get back to the main body now that I've got a diameter for the arbor that I can measure. Ed [attachment=9116] [attachment=9119] [attachment=9118] [attachment=9117] |
