RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Mayhem - 07-21-2013 Bugger! I should have paid closer attention to the title and maybe I wouldn't have missed the obvious Thanks for pointing that out Steve. I should have paid closer attention to the title and maybe I wouldn't have missed the obvious No Darren you were not totally wrong. Yes it is a cross feed drive, but I could have attached the motor at the rear of the cross slide at its lead screw, but I have the DRO back there and no room. I am also going to change the conduit to automotive brake line and move it to the rear. "Billy G" RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Bill Gruby - 07-21-2013 2 timing pulleys will be here this week. They are 2.7" in diameter and are for a 40 tooth belt. Belt width can be up to .310 diameter. Looks like up and running again very soon. "Billy G" RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Bill Gruby - 07-23-2013 There is no way to run the conduit from the rear. Too much in the way. I changed the conduit to 3/8 automotive brake line. Secret: Put the wire into the line before you bend. "Billy G" RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - tekfab - 07-23-2013 Bill, i'm a great admirer of your work, but sorry in that picture your cable route just looks plain ugly. Hopefully it's the angle of the picture or something. Mike RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Bill Gruby - 07-23-2013 I don't like it either. I gotta work on it. It's not in the way of anything but yes it's UGLY. Actually it's U-Gly, that's twice as bad as Ugly. RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Bill Gruby - 07-24-2013 Mike, how's this. Added two bends and went behind the lead screw. It's not pinned in yet. It's just sitting there. Looks better anyway. "Billy G" RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Bill Gruby - 07-24-2013 The small on/off switch knob was hidden behind the black box. This one won't be. "Billy G" RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Mayhem - 07-25-2013 Looking much better Bill. A coat of white paint would probably make a big difference as well. RE: Power Crossfeed for Asian 9X20s - Bill Gruby - 07-25-2013 Once this is completed Darren a complete facelift is in order. Since it is no longer a Jet it will be Rustoleum Hammered Gray. "Billy G" |
