So that means it was all made in China Thumbsup The receiver and the compressor arrive separate.

Ed,
On your second link (to the 60 gal. vertical) the last line in the 'Product Description' says - Assembled in USA with global components

Ah, OK. Sorry, I totally missed that.

Anyone know how much CFM a die grinder and a cut-off tool uses?

Thanks,
Ed

RE: I NEED A Compressor - Sunset Machine - 12-08-2012

Probably depends on the tool. I see a die grinder in the Enco catalog that claims 4 CFM, air ratchets at 21. I know my single stage 3HP compressor can't keep up with a cutoff tool but neither can I... Takes just a minute to pump back up and away we go again.

PS. Bought a large Ingersol-Rand impact wrench (#285, lists at $1100) for a tireshop yesterday. Brand new, out of the box, it didn't work. Nobody tested it before shipping. The story goes (not sure if it was mentioned here already) that I/R moved to China and Chicago Pneumatic bought their old plant in Japan. C/P is now the king of the hill.

I agree, especially when I see this posted on their page for the compressor.

"We guarantee this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship 90 days from the date of purchase. Limitations apply."

Ed

Reminds me of a local auto parts supplier, they sell cheap brake rotors, better rotors and top line rotors.

the actual rotor is the same piece, the price difference is in how long you want the rotor guaranteed for, 90 days, 1 year or lifetime.

I just got back from Menards. They have the Sanborn 60 gallon compressor on sale for $399, that's $100 off so for sure that's the one I'm going to get.

I just have to figure out how to haul it home and lift it into the garage. 17428

Good thing it's on sale until the 24th.

Typical homeshop solution - you could have bought TWENTY wheelbarrow tires for $399. :)
I don't suppose Menards delivers? Cast iron pump, belt driven, 3-1/2 HP. Heck of a deal!

RE: I NEED A Compressor - ETC57 - 12-08-2012

That's a great price Ed!! Thumbsup

Please quit fixating on the wheelbarrow tires. I've already stated that is not the reason for finally getting some sort of compressor.

They do deliver but I'm not sure if they would have a means to get it into the garage since they don't come in a crate but are already unboxed and just sitting on the store floor. I have no idea how they even lift the things to load them into a truck when not on a pallet and nothing to really lift them up by. I'll have to talk to them and see how they load them into a pickup truck.

I'm pretty sure I can talk my neighbor into transporting it from the store to my house. It's getting it off of the truck and into the garage that's going to be the tough part.
