RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - monkers - 12-31-2012 Thank you! RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - monkers - 01-01-2013 got a little bit done in the last few days, got a couple coats of paint on some of the parts and hardware, also scraped the 2 small sheet metal covers and the larger rear cover. They scraped ok, would have been much quicker to have them sandblasted lol..... I also made a "hex" bushing that slips over the adjusting shaft and has two set screws so I can use a wrench to adjust the shaft instead of the pipe wrench that was used in the past ;) RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - monkers - 01-14-2013 a little progress, not a lot , but its something got more parts painted and started putting it back together. I have to start hunting down bearings for the blade guides and gear box, as well as seals. Here are a couple shots how it sits now. RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - stevec - 01-15-2013 Lookin' good! RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - monkers - 01-15-2013 Thank you! RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - DaveH - 01-15-2013 Very smart DaveH RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - monkers - 01-15-2013 thanks! Have any of you guys used "Bearings Direct" I need blade guide bearings, bearings and seals for the gear box. The gear box bearings are all New Departure.... The only local place I have to get them is usually pricey..... RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - TomG - 01-15-2013 Looking good! It almost begs for some orange trim, but that would make it Marvelous. There's this place that gets good reviews. http://www.metalworkingfun.com/showthread.php?tid=809 Ed RE: Johnson Model B bandsaw - monkers - 01-17-2013 Im going to check them out, someone who owns one of these is checking some #s for me, some of my bearings do not appear to be the correct ones, so I will wait for his numbers so I get the correct ones. Hopefully the New Departure numbers cross over to something, the seals are National, so hopefully they are obtainable. There are so many different variations of some of these bearings lol. Thanks for the link Edk. |
