A little bit like being a kid and waiting for Santa.

Since i don't have any steel for the tractor brush guard i thought i would play with what i had on hand. Bending 3/8 x 2 1/2 HR flat 90 degrees. Worked great. Just used a chunk of 4" MC for the bottom die...Bob

Here are some parts i welded at work yesterday from 3/8" plate and they bent like a bananna but i knew they would. My buddy said just hit em with a sledge. Nope too much work. So i hauled them home and put them on 4" riser blocks in my press and flattened them right out...Bob

Way to go Bob.

So I am thinking again about getting started on a bender. I like the looks of this one from Iroquios Iron Works

I already have a length of 1-3/4" diameter stock to make the uprights and springs that are large enough to fit over the uprights, but need to figure out how thick to make the base plate. Press is 50 Ton and the table would be 32" long and 12" wide with 7" between the rails. I pressed onto a 1" thick plate with a 1" diameter and actually bent it one time. Other problem is how to move it off the press as it will get heavy really fast. even 1" plate is about 100 lbs and if I go heavier then weight goes up from there. Any ideas on thickness?

Here is a small tire bead breaker i made a few months ago to break the bead for my lawn mower tire. It needed a tube and i couldn't get the bead broke. It is a welded rim despite the bolts as they are for the hub...Bob
