RE: Log Splitter - DaveH - 03-15-2015 More welding questions. The end cap thickness is 3mm the same thickness as the tank. Now what if I used 6mm or 10mm thick steel for the end caps would that be a bad idea. DaveH RE: Log Splitter - f350ca - 03-15-2015 Nop, just weld hotter and direct the arc toward the heavier section. RE: Log Splitter - DaveH - 03-15-2015 Thanks Greg. DaveH RE: Log Splitter - DaveH - 03-15-2015 At the moment I'm finishing off the base for the pusher, I'd already started thinking the 25mm thick steel would have been here last week. Just 3 bits and a few holes for the nuts and bolts to hold it together. [attachment=10306] I'll finish the base first then I'll start welding again. DaveH RE: Log Splitter - DaveH - 03-16-2015 The base part more or less finished, still have to clean it up a little. Still waiting for the 25mm stuff. [attachment=10317] DaveH RE: Log Splitter - EdK - 03-16-2015 It's starting to look like something now Dave. Ed RE: Log Splitter - DaveH - 03-16-2015 Does seem to be taking a long time, all this stop and start plus losing bits doesn't help. DaveH RE: Log Splitter - dallen - 03-16-2015 Shop Monster is constantly hiding my stuff where I can't find it. However I'm still ticked off about the 25mm steel that seemed to have 'walked' off.
