RE: Let's See Your Shop - Vinny - 06-21-2015 of course RE: Let's See Your Shop - EdK - 06-21-2015 Nice deal on that saw. But that's ok Well as usual I do covet your advice but yas funny like a dollar short and a day late.... btw I did take your advice and keep the beer fridge and was gona follow your lead on the Horiz band saw after I got a blessing .. However good news Bro Nice deal on the bandsaw. I have a 7x12 Jet horizontal bandsaw, it is a mid 90's version and of Taiwanese origin. Works quite well but I have my eye on a Baleigh 7x12 miter head saw after I get a few paying jobs done and out the door. I will then sell the Jet locally. Mike. RE: Let's See Your Shop - Kennyv - 06-21-2015 yea I got a u suck .. see that Vinny guess im a blokie now .... RE: Let's See Your Shop - Kennyv - 06-30-2015 Shees erected now I have room for my new addition without loosing floor space for my band saw. Now just enough room for my new lathe when it arrives. I came up with this crazy idea to build a two tier bench which will accommodate bench machines while each will still being functional. In addition I have gained two upper shelves to store some power tools ect... well guess it worked. This was also to make room for band saw when it arrived. And open up floor space . I got the shelves for free but what a biach..... lota drilling and there were no brackets or hardware. The other reason was bc I had to down a shelf and move my fridge to other side of shop when I placed in my new mill > so far its all working out . Here some pics of the old bench and now the new bench in place. Next is to slim line my disc sander with new table , and make a slider for the buffer/ wire wheel . Finish building the carbide tool grinder and drum sander . After that I will most likely fabricate a grinding fixture table . But who knows what will come up in between so not necessary all in that order . Things are shaping up in the garage perhaps soon I can make something . RE: Let's See Your Shop - zmotorsports - 06-30-2015 Few pictures of the motorcycle half of our shop. It's pretty tight in there, I had to stagger the bike lifts to keep trips to the toolbox and workbenches unobstructed without bumping the bike on the opposite lift that I was working on. It is a little frustrating but I think I finally have things arranged in a manner than work is not impeded to bad. Mike. RE: Let's See Your Shop - stevec - 06-30-2015 Ya, looks frustrating as heck! I'd be inclined to build a bigger shop, or sell and find a bigger place. Just a little jealous sarcasm. Steve RE: Let's See Your Shop - Kennyv - 06-30-2015 Nice SHOP MIKE looks good I envy ya big time..... Cuz id love to do custom machine work on bikes. Yup That's always an issue room @ bike shops even at the dealers . ya have to move out 5 bikes to get to one.. I have friend that's a service manager at a HD dealer. He's a little guy 140 punds. We were in back warehouse getting to the bikes in storage. I think its Nutz the way the parkem so close. Anyway I asked him if he ever dropped one he said No!!! not yet... .. but had a full dresser tip on him he was pinned for over half an hour before someone came.. Told em ya took the bullet bro n saved the bike. here is a pic of my scoot before / after restore even tho it didn't need . was pristine to start with. .This was the ONLY new thing ( car bike) I ever bought in my life . After riding 30 years 9 months ago someone hit me on a circle and I went down ... Got 5K for damage spent every penny on the restore . Designed the paint job myself . Hard to see in a few pics its Midnight Black cherry Marbleized cabernet with ghosted graphics > You may not be able to See the way the color changes its NOT a chameleon Job its a Kenny V who explained to my Boy Billy lamb the( artist) Ohh im PIA I told him im gona push his limits , he hated me every step of the l way lol... But we became close had allot time together and after hours . cuz I knew what I wanted and did not know how to get there. He said that refined him as an artist and had the most pleasure he had in a long time doing my Job .. Btw aint no coincidence that my with my generous tip I spent every last penny God is good im alive to tell story and he restored my bike 10 fold better than was before . Its an 01 Dyna Glyde now its a Dynamic Supergylde. Have bob fenda , now , steering stabilizer, new bags custom dynamics Led lighting , Back off kit , Blue head light Jasper Billet mirrors and even added accent lighting for at nighttime. I know its corny but Fig what the hec this paint job is Royal she deserves it all back. Btw are you the famous mike with the awesome power draw bar ? Thanks Steve. My wife and I have actually kicked around the idea of purchasing a new home with some property to build a bigger shop but to be honest I don't want to go back into debt. We paid our home off in 2006 and I would like to be able to retire in my mid-50's (46 years old now) which I don't see happening if we were go a couple hundred thousand in debt for a home and bigger shop. I will just be happy with where I am. To be honest it has kind of forced me to be realistic about organization and various projects I have thought about starting due to the lack of space. It may look like a lot of space there but it is tight and I don't like to bump into one project while working on another, I get work claustrophobic in that manner. Mike. Nice looking scoot there Kenny. Thanks for the compliments. I don't know about famous, but I did post up a thread with the power drawbar a few weeks ago and have a couple of youtube videos showing how I fabricated it. I can't take the credit as I saw it on Colin's (compedgex) youtube channel and tried to copy it. I liked his version much better than my original one so I sold my first one and built my current version. Mike. |
