Could work aRM, check the voltage on the leads, should be able to adjust it with the current setting on the welder to say 12 v to start. Hook it up to the electrolyte bath with an amp meter in the circuit to see what its drawing.

'Tis worth a shot Greg
Will look at that with a bit more detail
Thanks

aRM, remember the electronic engineers' Rule of Toe when selecting a transformer - drop it on your foot, it'll give as many amps as the toes it breaks...

Hey Dave
This one will break all our toes, so we reckon it would do.
The lowest setting is 55 Amps and we don't have an Amp meter to test the reading - GREG
Duh question - but if it is overpowered, what are consequences and/or the possibilities of it like blowing up the works ???
The little we know, it will trip the house Main Circuit Board !!!
Do we go ahead ???

aRM, I'd be surprised if the electrolysis process would draw 55 amps. But I don't know what the potential, higher than 12 +/- volts, would do to the process. Chin

while at the hardware store yesterday I spotted an 8" slim taper 3 cornered file that would work for sharpening my handsaw, and backsaw.

So today I got the supreme pleasure of sharpening the handsaw that used to be my Dad's, this saw is probably older then I am I know my dad got it from the sawmill that he used to work at back in the 50's. Thing cuts like it was brand new again. After sharpening it I sawed the end off of a 3X4 piece of dry oak timber in just a matter of a couple minutes.

Now I just need to find a saw set on Evil Bay that I can afford to buy.

I believe I have at least 2 or 3. I'd have to look for them, though. I'd be happy to part with one.
