Funny that Bill, I don't particularly believe that a grown man needs a sister in law Regards Rick RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - DaveH - 08-24-2013 (08-20-2013, 02:21 PM)Bill Gruby Wrote: Shyster-in-, I mean Sister-in-Law DaveH RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - Bill Gruby - 07-04-2015 It is apparent that this project needs to be finished. It is a long way from done. The nose piece is first up. It needs a radius done. I did this without a ball Turner or CNC. I coordinated the X-Y movements by hand. No auto feeds. It took just 1 hour. No filing was needed. Just sanding and polishing. RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - Brian - 07-05-2015 Welcome back Billy, now perhaps I can learn how to build a radial before I start destroying good material, trying to make mine. Looking and learning. Brian. RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - Pete O - 07-06-2015 Glad to see this back as well, this was one of my go-to threads when I was lurking before joining here. Very inspirational stuff. RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - Bill Gruby - 07-08-2015 I haven't forgotten this. Guhring drills will be here tomorrow. They are better for the deep drilling (3.00+) needed. "Billy G" RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - Brian - 07-09-2015 OK Billy G I just have to ask what is it that makes these drills different, please shine a light on my ignorance. Brian. RE: P&W 1830 Radial in 1/6 scale. - Bill Gruby - 07-09-2015 Brian; They are longer and the flutes clear chips faster. There is no chip build up on the drill if used correctly. "Billy G" |
