THANKS ED tom RE: Making A QCTP Indicator Holder - f350ca - 09-25-2012 Have two chucks about 2 foot long I cut out of a set of forks for someone. Too bad I'm not still living in Wainwright RE: Making A QCTP Indicator Holder - TOM REED - 09-26-2012 F350 that would be nice however I used to have a towing company in Calgary, moving forklifts was one of our jobs, I unfortunately hauled many broken or bent forks to the scrap yard, go figure now I could use one. ED I envy you having the time-energy-willpower to get what you do done + do the drawings and look after the forum, when I get home from my weeks work I usually have some work to do on the truck and no energy to spare. Last week on my days off I installed new injectors in the engine and did a topset as well as rebuild the jake heads. Gained about 150 HP on the truck plus about 1.5 mpg fuel economy. But all that climbing up and down is hard on an old man. tom RE: Making A QCTP Indicator Holder - EdK - 09-26-2012 (09-26-2012, 09:10 AM)TOM REED Wrote: ED I envy you having the time-energy-willpower to get what you do done + do the drawings and look after the forum, ... Tom, Don't envy me too much. I usually have little to no time in the evenings when I get home from work to do much of anything but household chores and cooking. I live alone so I have to do all of the house and yard maintenance and cooking so by the time I'm done with chores I just want to sit down and relax for a spell. Lately I've been putting off some of the household projects because I got the itch to make some chips (hey, that rhymes! ). I need to get back to the household projects though because the snow will be flying before I know it and I have a couple of outdoor projects to complete before that white stuff arrives. Ed RE: Making A QCTP Indicator Holder - EdK - 10-12-2012 I know this is boring stuff but it's been dead around here lately. This weekends project. I milled one side flat for my reference side and then marked up the block ready for milling. Tomorrow I start milling and drilling the block. Ed [attachment=3231] [attachment=3232] RE: Making A QCTP Indicator Holder - DaveH - 10-12-2012 Ed, Nah, it's not boring, we all like to see what is happening. DaveH RE: Making A QCTP Indicator Holder - EdK - 10-13-2012 Had an "oops!" and scarred up the block I was milling. It's still usable, I'll just need to mill the scars off. I was using my screwless vise and a 3/4" 4-flute end mill and spinning it probably too fast for the chips to clear. The depth of cut was only .020" so I'm somewhat surprised it grabbed like it did. Oh well, time for the bigger vise and a 2-flute end mill. Ed [attachment=3249] |
