RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - f350ca - 05-26-2012 I cheat and use the shaper. Greg RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - RobWilson - 05-27-2012 A Fine bit of cheating Greg Rob RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - DaveH - 05-27-2012 Greg, Nice, very nice DaveH RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - stevec - 05-27-2012 Notice he's using the same camera as Rob uses. Nice work Greg, is it in process or now in use? If so any pics of it on the lathe? Any particular reason for using round mat'l? Or is it just for asthetics? RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - f350ca - 05-27-2012 Thanks for the comments, I use a special shiny lens filter to get that finish. The body was made from a piece of mystery shaft I salvaged, hence the curve on the back side. Remember it being tough when I machined it. Greg RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - DaveH - 05-28-2012 Greg, Wow, that is very nicely made Nice balls too DaveH RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - doubleboost - 05-28-2012 Greg, Very nicely done I am not sure weather to get a shaper Or a camera with a trick lens I use the boring head round shank tools in the same way John RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - EdK - 05-28-2012 Yes, very nicely done. I really like that design. Simple yet effective. Ed RE: UPS Brought Me Some New Tools - f350ca - 05-28-2012 Thanks for the encouragement. Trust me I don't get that finish all the time. I may have actually made drawings for the tool post but they'd be in DXF format if I did, wouldn't have a clue how to convert them to post.
