RE: Table for my mill - Highpower - 05-07-2015 I definitely sense a large area of negative pressure originating from Vinny's direction. RE: Table for my mill - Vinny - 05-09-2015 Picked up the steel today. That stuff is HEAVY! The 4x4's aren't 1/4" like I thought. They're 5/16" thick. It was a pain to load but unloading wasn't bad. Pulled the hilo up to the back of the truck, raised the forks even with the tailgate and slid them on. I didn't bother taking them off the forks, I just moved them where I figure I'll store them for now, dropped the forks and parked it. Seeing as how thick they are, looks like a plasma cutter is in my not too distant future. I've got my eye on a 50A pilot arc. Ed RE: Table for my mill - Vinny - 05-09-2015 Twas getting dark so I didn't take any. Tomorrow. RE: Table for my mill - RobWilson - 05-10-2015 Hi Vinny Rob RE: Table for my mill - Vinny - 05-11-2015 Poured rain most of the day yesterday so when I got home before it started raining any harder I took some quick pics. Here they is: I'm not worried about the cuts in them, I'll make use out of 'em. RE: Table for my mill - f350ca - 05-11-2015 Great score. Those aren't rusty, thats prep for the paint. I clean mine up with a flap wheel on the grinder, the rough surface holds paint far better than new metal. RE: Table for my mill - stevec - 05-11-2015 Good haul Vinny, I'd be on that like a dog on a bone. Oh, and by the way, Steve RE: Table for my mill - Vinny - 05-21-2015 Planning on starting on this tomorrow. Don't know if I'll get to the stick welding but I hope to at least tack it. When it comes to the stick welding portion, is 3/32" 6011 rod ok? The steel is both 1/4" and 5/16" thick. RE: Table for my mill - dallen - 05-21-2015 whatever your comfortable with is what works best. Me I'd use 1/8 7018 but that's just me. DA |
