Total, including shipping was $46.03US. You can find them at worldofbooks.com but when you search for it, "the model engineers workshop manual" won't turn up any results. Drop "the" and you'll find it. International shipping was 2GBP. You got it cheaper because you're getting a used book. You must of gotten the last one because they now say they are out of stock. Ed RE: For those in America that might be thinking of ordering a Hemingway kit ... - Vinny - 02-19-2015 Yes, a used book but they say it's in stock as of a minute ago. That's strange. It gave me a not in stock message but I tried adding it to my cart anyway and it gave me the same message. They must be printing them in the back room. Ed RE: For those in America that might be thinking of ordering a Hemingway kit ... - caveBob - 02-19-2015 arvidj, if you email Hemingwaykits, they'll give you current prices for just the plans alone. I ordered a few sets of plans a couple years ago (very nice large prints on good quality paper stock) along with the book you're looking for. Kirk Burwell is who I worked with via email, so it's just kirk@ hemingwaykits.com hth RE: For those in America that might be thinking of ordering a Hemingway kit ... - how'sitwork? - 02-22-2015 Kirk is a great guy, very helpful. If you want a list of the projects in the book- Quick retracting tool holder for screw cutting, dies and die holders, boring tool making, ball handle tool, tailstock micrometer, workshop bending rolls, small rotary table, quick action hand rest ( built it - very handy (no pun intended)), lathe tool turrets, boring heads ( construction notes for), designing a lathe back stop, looking after a lathe. Basically it's a damn good read. Even over here it's expensive but the plans etc and notes are worth it. Hemingway produce kits based around this book. Yes the kits are excellent ( got 2 so far ( one's maturing under the bench - you know how it goes....) Hope that's of use. |
