You probably get closer to one more often than I do with your trips to the US. RE: Small Shop Press - TomG - 04-04-2013 According to Google Maps, the Harbor Freight store nearest to Darren is in Chula Vista California. If he wants to make the trip, it's 23,313km and 4666 hours on foot. Oh, and according to Google, the route includes a ferry and crosses through Japan. Tom RE: Small Shop Press - EdK - 04-23-2013 This weekend my brother and I are going to make a trip to HF to pick up a shop press. Arvid kindly sent me a link from another forum showing the three models of 20 ton shop presses that they currently sell. http://www.harborfreight.com/20-ton-shop-press-32879.html http://www.harborfreight.com/20-ton-h-frame-shop-press-97022.html http://www.harborfreight.com/20-ton-shop-press-60603.html I'll get the last one if they have it since it's a bolt together rather than a welded frame and would probably fit into my car better than the others. If they don't have that one then I'll get first one since I can get it for $160 where the second one would cost me $199. Either way, I'm going to finally have a shop press next Saturday. I need to clear out a spot in the garage for it but it will be nice to finally have a shop press. Ed RE: Small Shop Press - f350ca - 04-23-2013 Wish I could get one for that price up here in we'll charge extra case we can land. Needed to use a friends twice last week. His looks similar to the last one Ed RE: Small Shop Press - arvidj - 04-23-2013 Ed, The March/April 2013 copy of The Home Shop Machinest, page 9, has a Harbor Freight Super Coupon for the 32879/60603 for $149.99. You may not be able to stack a 20% coupon on top of it but $150 based on the coupon alone isn't a bad price. Cancel that. Found the same coupon in a motorcycle magazine. Send an email to my personal email address and it will be in tomorrows mail. It should make it the 80 miles to your house by Saturdays mail delivery. I have a 12 Ton I bought years ago, same design. It is very rickety to say the least and getting anything to press in straight is going to be a challenge! I bought mine to broach parts rather than send them out. The press paid for itself the very first job, but we had to shim it seven ways to Sunday to get any sort of use out of it, and even then it was difficult. I eventually bought a 5 ton ratcheting arbor press and now the hydraulic just collects dust. Well, wait a minute......I take that back.....we use it as a stand for our magnifying light!! Best Regards, Russ RE: Small Shop Press - EdK - 04-26-2013 Thanks for the thought Russ but I have enough "project" tools. Besides, then you'd have to come up with another stand for the magnifying light. That's got to be the fanciest magnifying light stand I've every seen. Ed RE: Small Shop Press - EdK - 04-26-2013 I'll be picking up this shop press tomorrow and was wondering if you guys bolt your press down to the floor or not? Thanks, Ed [attachment=5109] RE: Shop Press - DaveH - 04-26-2013 Mine is on wheels. DaveH |
