RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Shawn - 02-19-2015 (02-17-2015, 08:52 PM)Bill Gruby Wrote: I was on the drawing board the last few days. Yup, I still use a pencil. Made assembly drawings and 16 pages of parts prints for a Die Filer. I can't do work like that in CAD, looks like a cool project. Any chance you will be making the drawings available when your done. I've always thought a die filer would be a great tool in the shop. Cheers Shawn RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Bill Gruby - 02-19-2015 Yes Shawn, I will have them available when the project is completed. I have a friend that will put them on a disc for me. Be advised this will not be the Die Filer you see all the time. The table alone will be 16" X 16". Reduction will be 6:1 giving 270 Strokes per minute. If you choose a DC Motor you can make it variable. I may go DC myself. I worked out the Trunions for the Tilt Table yesterday. They will be drawn up today. "Billy G" RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Bill Gruby - 02-19-2015 Print Of Table Tilt Trunion finished. "Billy G" RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Bill Gruby - 02-20-2015 The initial Prints for the Die Filer are finished. I will build from these and make any necessary changes along the way. Four days work. "Billy G" RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - EdK - 02-20-2015 I'd be willing to draw them up in CAD if that 's of any interest to anyone. I'm interested if it is in AutoCAD or some freeware CAD program. Thanks, JScott RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - EdK - 02-20-2015 (02-20-2015, 02:01 PM)JScott Wrote:(02-20-2015, 01:14 PM)EdK Wrote: I'd be willing to draw them up in CAD if that 's of any interest to anyone. My CAD program can export DXF and DWG files which just about all CAD programs can import. The CAD program I use is Solid Edge 2D and it's free. http://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/en_us/products/solid-edge/forms/solid_edge_free_2d_response.shtml Ed RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - f350ca - 02-20-2015 Had to get my hands dirty again, enough of that wimpy wood stuff. Started building a work stop for my non Kurt vice, but I think I stole they're design. Machined the arm out of a 1 inch square of mystery stainless. Not bad to work with, work hardens a bit if you don't keep the feed on. Here's a good example of non stress relieved metal. The clamp bolt definitely won't rattle when its slacked off a bit. RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Bill Gruby - 02-21-2015 Good morning everyone. It is just 7 degrees out there this morning. Ed, how do I get the prints to you. A few pages are too big for me to scan? "Billy G" RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - EdK - 02-21-2015 (02-21-2015, 08:16 AM)Bill Gruby Wrote: Good morning everyone.
