RE: Todays Project - What did you do today? - Highpower - 02-06-2015

Thanks Ed. This thing came along at just the right time for me. My old Jacobson Sno-Burst was a real work-out for me. I had to rebuild the diaphragm type carburetor just about every year because the ethanol in our fuel would eat up the diaphragms. Trying to get it started the first snow fall of the season was a major chore. Had to pull on that *@&#^&$!! recoil starter for half an hour while feeding the carb starting fluid long enough for the engine to give enough impulses to break the diaphragms loose so they would move again. Arrrrgggghhhh!  Rant

Luckily the Toro has a float type carburetor  Smiley-dancenana so that shouldn't be a problem anymore. It starts with the first pull of the rope. Still, when the temps really drop, (and with my bad shoulders) I will be very glad to have the electric starter and be able to just "plug and play".  Cool

Blued the Barrel yesterday, but think I'm going to go a couple more wipe and boil sessions with it, just because I can.

I wish, but they are way too much trouble to use inside the house. and I don't have a place outside to put the setup at. So its chemical solutions until I get rich and can afford a separate building to put them in.
